Recently in a maritime administrative case, the Court appointed an eco-technical investigation officer as expert witness to conduct a technical review of the impact of the illegal occupation of the sea area on the marine ecological environment and the ecological restoration of the sea area. This is the first time that a Chinese maritime court has appointed an eco-technical investigation officer as expert witness, which improves the professional and scientific level of trials of ecological cases.
